Duke Dumont Unveils Dark And Thrilling Video For ‘The Power’

Music

Duke Dumont has followed his electrifying end of summer hit ‘The Power’ with a thrilling and tense cinematic video featuring Filipino actress Jasmin Curtis Smith.

Directed by Paco Raterta, who’s previously worked with The Prodigy, Gravedgr, and Eyedress, the dark and fervent video depicts a struggle within a cult-like group, starring actress Jasmin Curtis Smith as the main protagonist. Shot in the Philippines, the video short journeys through three acts, first “The Pain”, then “The Truth” before crescendoing to the dramatic conclusion of “The Power”.

The video arrives after an explosive launch of the single, with ‘The Power’ recently selected as Nick Grimshaw’s Tune Of The Week on BBC Radio One whilst garnering over 13 million streams since its August release.

The lyrics of the track go something like:

You do me, I do you
Feed me lies, I’ma find the truth
Feel the light, numb the pain
Kiss the sky, I’ma make it rain
Getting close, breaking through
Confidence looks good on you
Feel the light, numb the pain
Kiss the sky, and we’ll make it rain
I can feel the power
Running through my veins
Getting louder
Calling out my name
And it feels like sunlight in the night sky
It shines on my mind
(Oh, it shines on my mind)

Multi-Grammy-nominated Dumont has amassed over 2 billion streams across his back-catalogue of previous anthems, scoring huge success with platinum-selling UK #1 singles ‘Need U (100%)’ and ‘I Got U’. Duke has also produced ‘Swish Swish’ the biggest single from Katy Perry’s Prism album.
