Texas-based producers Feathervane and OREONIC have teamed up for their Monstercat debut today, with a blissful downtempo EP, ‘Overcast.’
Drawing inspiration from cloudy skies, the atmospheric pads and serene melodies form a stunning arrangement of the duo’s chillout stylings on the three-track package. Feathervane channels his Latin American roots on “Sun Showers,” heard through the ambient percussion reminiscent in his cultural soundscapes that he’s grown more connected to in Colombia. With both artists previously winning Monstercat’s annual Mix Contest, the pair are ready to display their artistic range in the melodic realm, and ‘Overcast’ is only the beginning.
Feathervane shares, “The initial concepts for this project emerged during our trip to Second Sky last year. Our styles blended beautifully, and to be releasing the final product on Monstercat is all we could have ever hoped for.”
OREONIC adds, “We started the title track on an overcast day in San Francisco. The mood that the cloudy skies gave off inspired us to make a mellow, chill song to match our experience. Our styles worked together perfectly to create a beautiful set of relaxing tracks for this EP.”
