Halsey and Amy Lee are officially teaming up, and it’s giving major rock-pop power duo energy.
The two vocal icons have joined forces on a new track called Hand That Feeds, made for the upcoming John Wick spin-off movie Ballerina. Dropping this Friday, May 9, the song marks a long-awaited collaboration between the 30-year-old pop disruptor and the 43-year-old Evanescence frontwoman, and fans are already losing it.
Amy Lee took to X to hype the release, writing, “So thrilled to bring you a new song, ‘Hand That Feeds,’ with @halsey THIS FRIDAY!” She added that she and Halsey have “been fans of each other’s work for a long time” and that the collab feels like it was “meant to be.” And the timing? Couldn’t be more perfect. Evanescence is set to open for Halsey at her Hollywood Bowl show on May 14, just days after the track hits streaming.
Amy shared that Lionsgate reached out with the idea for the song as part of the Ballerina soundtrack, and from there, things just clicked. “We already had the Hollywood Bowl show in place when @Lionsgate invited us to work on a song for the @ballerinamovie together, and it’s finally time to serve it UP!” she teased.

Halsey’s been on a rollercoaster lately, both creatively and personally. Last year, she dropped her fifth studio album The Great Impersonator, which she admitted could’ve been her last. Dealing with chronic illnesses like lupus and endometriosis, she poured those experiences into the record. “I wrote a lot about what I was going through,” she told fans. “I felt like I couldn’t tell anyone… but the weight of it all and looking at my life wondering if I was happy with who I was.”
Despite everything, Halsey’s still experimenting and pushing boundaries, and a raw, cinematic track like Hand That Feeds feels like a natural evolution for her. Pairing that with Amy Lee’s haunting vocals? Pure fire.
As for Evanescence, they’ve been on their own creative streak. Their single Afterlife, released back in March for Netflix’s Devil May Cry anime series, showed they’re still in full force. And with tour dates lined up alongside My Chemical Romance and Metallica, they’re clearly not slowing down.
From mutual admiration to a badass soundtrack single, the Halsey and Amy Lee collab is a full-circle moment for fans who’ve been waiting for these two worlds to collide.
