While the coronavirus has brought nothing but debilitating news for the music and entertainment industry, it has given a lot of DJ’s and producers unexpected time at home with their loved ones and in their studios.

One such DJ who is making the most of this time is tropical house sensation, Kygo. Not having released a new album in nearly three years now, Kygo took to social media today to announce his third studio album, ‘Golden Hour’, was completed and the first single from the new album will be out this Friday.

Kygo’s last album came in 2017 with ‘Kids In Love’, which featured him collaborating with the likes of OneRepublic, John Newman, and Billy Raffoul among others. His debut studio album ‘Cloud Nine’ came in 2016 which was the year he burst onto the scene with the releases of some of his biggest hits to date like “Firestone” and “Stole The Show.”

While between 2017 to 2020 Kygo didn’t release any albums or EP’s, he did keep a steady trickle of singles with some major collaborators coming through. “Born to Be Yours” for example was his collaboration with Imagine Dragons which did extremely well and soared on charts. He then went on to release “Happy Now” with Sandro Cavazza and “Carry On” with Rita Ora among many others. He also ended 2019 on a high note with an unusual but hugely successful collaboration with Whitney Houston in “Higher Love.” The track went platinum across markets and was quite a hit across regions.

December 2019 saw the Avicii Tribute Concert for Mental Health Awareness which took place at the Friends Arena in his hometown of Stockholm. With DJ performances by his friends and collaborators David Guetta, Kygo, Nicky Romero, Laidback Luke, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike there was a lot of unreleased music we probably might not hear again. While David Guetta dropped a track they had built on abeat which he and Avicii worked on together with Afrojack and Georgio Moroder, Kygo also dropped an unreleased collaboration which he performed with Sandro Cavazza.

Kygo and Sandro Cavazza later went on to officially finish the track and release it and called it “Forever Yours.” Hear the beautiful tribute track below and get ready for some much needed new Kygo music coming this Friday!
