DJ/Producer Duo PRTYFOUL., Rapper Kyle Bent and record producer duo Jakk’d unleashed their combined contribution this past Friday. Named “Our Heaven”, the EP consists of three tracks “Romp”, “Poppy” and “Our Heaven”.
Both the PRTYFOUL. Duo and Jakk’d are bass artists. However, with this EP, these producers stepped into a new territory which is filled with a lot of experimentation landmines.
The first record “Romp” definitely makes the opening statement for the EP during its full run. It screams big energy, minimalism and makes sure to keep one grooving to its deep and heavy basslines while catering to smooth vocals from Boston based hip-hop artist Kyle Bent.
“Poppy” is where the artists start to bring out an experimental flavor to their usual Bass signature sounds. It sounds like a sweet fusion between Future Trap and Reggae with heavy fillers out of the 90’s. Just like the plant, “Poppy” tends to seduce the ears of any listener at any given time.
The three track EP ends on a fine note with “Our Heaven”. Unlike the first two, “Our Heaven” is a much softer and less energetic record with heavy melodic work from the producers and the vocalist. With a melancholic vibe and a rather cheerful drop follow up, “Our Heaven” acts as a great radio friendly track.
