Rising from the acclaim of his debut album, Mersiv is set to redefine the boundaries of bass music with ‘Out of Bounds’, launching on October 20th.

Building on the immense success of his debut, Pretty Dark Loud, this new release encapsulates not just Mersiv’s impressive growth both personally and professionally, but also his ambition to break free from genre conventions.

While his previous work resonated with deeper, more melancholic undertones, ‘Out of Bounds’ is a testament to Mersiv branching out, presenting a more assertive take on bass music. Although grounded in heavy basslines and compelling rhythms, the album showcases a diverse tapestry of styles, blending elements of hip-hop, and pop.

Fresh off a sold-out headlining debut at Red Rocks in April 2023 and following a series of nationwide tours, including prime festival slots post his 2022 album Pretty Dark Loud, ‘Out of Bounds’ sets the stage with the electrifying “I Like It When You Move.” This opener isn’t merely a track—it’s a proclamation. It embodies Mersiv’s newfound confidence, a reflection of his journey since Pretty Dark Loud and the widespread acclaim he’s garnered.

The album then flows into “Bounce” ft. Forbes and DJ Mag-featured artist, Wreckno, followed by the titular “Out of Bounds”. As we dive deeper, tracks such as “Coast to Coast” featuring industry veteran PROBCAUSE and “Ultra Instinct” enrich the narrative. Mersiv’s collaboration with dance music maestro Jelacee on “Perfect” offers a dreamy backdrop, reminiscent of the album’s futuristic artwork.

Mersiv’s penchant for sonic innovation shines through in tracks like “Trouble” with HEYZ, providing listeners a moment of reflection, emphasizing the message that every individual’s journey is intensely personal. The later part of the album, with tracks like “Dreamscape”, offers melodic, soul-soothing rhythms. “Hypnotize” stands out, epitomizing the essence of Freeform Bass music.

“Top Floor”, an exhilarating collaboration with The Ninetys, further amplifies Mersiv’s diverse soundscapes, setting the scene for the forthcoming ‘Out of Bounds’ Tour, commencing September 1st, 2023.

Since the inception of the Mersiv Sound Project in 2015, Mersiv’s trajectory has been meteoric, with tracks like “Beautiful & Filthy”, “Fire Dance”, and “Get To You ft. Saint Sinner” fortifying his place in the industry. ‘Out of Bounds’ isn’t just another album—it’s Mersiv, unreservedly displaying his prowess with bass, setting unparalleled standards for Freeform Bass music.
