‘Demon’ is the incredible new single from Moonchild Sanelly & Sad Night Dynamite, which is available now and received its first play on BBC Radio 1 as Hottest Record In The World.

This follows Sad Night Dynamite’s acclaimed recent single ‘Psychedelic Views’ (featuring IDK) on top of Moonchild Sanelly’s latest track, ‘Undumpable’.

‘Demon’ is an electric collaboration between South African star Moonchild Sanelly and Glastonbury-natives Sad Night Dynamite: danceable, dystopian but ultimately empowering in its exorcism of dark influences in your life. Recorded remotely over lockdown, ‘Demon’ takes Moonchild and Sad Night’s two very different experiences and transforms them into something strange and new (as they explain…).

“It was amazing to work with the guys on this track,” says Moonchild Sanelly. “I love their sound and when I heard their twisted instrumental, I knew I needed to write about this Demon that was in my life at the time – a very real and dark experience I was going through. It’s great how the guys developed the story and sound, especially as this was a deep one for me. It’s great to work with people with such a different sound who are across the globe feeling the same things about someone!”

Sad Night Dynamite, meanwhile, started work on ‘Demon “after moon’s verse gave Josh a nightmare in which he was on trial for being a witch. In the end it turned out he wasn’t one, but by that point it was too late, they’d already drowned him. We’ve been big fans of Moonchild for a minute now. We love her music and what she stands for. The energy she brought with ‘Demon’ was so unique. Collabing with her was a no brainer.”

Moonchild Sanelly’s recent releases open up a new chapter for her after last year’s EP Nüdes, her standout feature on the Gorillaz album Strange Timez (“With Love to an Ex”), her killer bars on Ghetts UK radio smash “Mozambique” as well as her feature in Beyoncé’s Black Is King visual album for the song “MY POWER.” Fearless, inclusive and a lot of fun, the artist is only just getting started.

Her iconic personal style combined with an outspoken approach to female sexual desire has earned her collaborations with the aforementioned Beyoncé and Gorillaz as well as the likes of Diplo and Wizkid and built her a devoted fanbase. She is “a global superstar waiting to happen” according to Damon Albarn.

Sad Night Dynamite, meanwhile, have quickly been hailed the UK’s most exciting new band. A duo of lifelong friends Archie and Josh, the pair met at school but started the project whilst separated at University.

Their dizzily accomplished debut mixtape – influences range from Tyler, The Creator, The Specials and Morricone to lyrics laced with a distorted, fairground-mirror way with storytelling – created a true world of its own; and even in the pandemic, saw Sad Night Dynamite win an impassioned early audience (with million of streams, an immediately sold-out headline tour, and co-signs ranging from Gorillaz to FKA Twigs).

Watch out for more from Moonchild Sanelly and Sad Night Dynamite coming soon.
