Progressive duo Noise Zoo have announced the release of their huge new EP, “Namibia/Flare” via the label Enhanced Progressive.

Consisting of Thomas Jacobsen and Richard Gjerdin, Noise Zoo have been quickly growing in reputation over the last few years and their newest release has piqued the interest of progressive behemoths Above & Beyond.

Thomas Jacobsen has already made a name for himself under the moniker Jaco with several releases on labels like Black Hole Recordings, Enhanced and Euphonic. He has also garnered the support of acts like Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Cosmic Gate.

Richard Gjerdin’s exploits are similar under his moniker, Proglifter. His tracks have earned releases on labels like Enhanced and Progressive House Worldwide. He has also garnered the support of legends like Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond, Andy Moor and M.I.K.E.

Featuring a spate of African influences – particularly the African vocals combined with wind instruments endemic to the continent – “Namibia” follows up a hard-hitting, bass-driven riff with plenty of lush melodies and atmospheric elements.

The track then leads into an euphoric crescendo which definitely gets one thinking of the sun rising over an open savannah, something that the duo were perhaps going for with their composition of the track.

Flare continues the euphoric, synth filled approach the duo have taken for this EP although the track is a little more reflective and melancholy than its counterpart. With several melodic elements and a bassline that rolls in and out of the track but never overshadows the key elements of the track, it is a fine follow-up to Namibia.
