London-born singer and songwriter Beau Nox is an intriguing and elusive character. Having moved to India as a child in true nomadic fashion, Beau spent his formative years running away to the Himalayas and exploring the underworlds of New Delhi by night.

Beau Nox is a unique new voice in the alternative pop scene. Teamed with producer Rudy Jr., these two 20-somethings formed Day Fly, described by Boiler Room as ‘’soul lovingly linking arms with alternative hip-hop with a smidgen of sing-a-long pop shaken in. Fans of The Internet and Phony Ppl, rejoice!”

After a two year hiatus, Day Fly is back with “Do You Need Me” – a new single with an accompanying video. Supported by Rudy Jr.’s nostalgic production, Beau Nox asks an unidentified subject “Do you need me? The way that I need you?” The listener is left sitting on the edge of their seats, wanting more as Beau bounces between rapping and singing on a warm sonic bed of fuzzy guitars and poppy synths.

Directed by Folkert Verdoom, the video for “Do You Need Me” perfectly captures the nostalgia of Beau’s crooning and Rudy’s production. Shot in the “beautiful, yet ugly” town of Liége, Belgium, the idea behind the video was to “create something that portrays a feeling of desire for a loved one. The video is a sort of open book – something for the viewer to project their own experience on.”

With the release of “Do You Need Me” the duo has promised that their first full length album, Love and the Lack Therof, will play with themes of lost love, heartbreak, and the challenges of youth and vulnerability. The album will be released in 2018.
