Norwegian producer Rootkit releases a brand new single – Taking Me Higher. The single comes out on Monstercat, marking his return to the label.

The track begins with subtle beats and vocals that sound muffled. Synth works are crisp and prominent, while a lot of drum works can be heard in the background. The groovy vibe casts a spell on you, which certainly will keep you going on dancing to it. The track as a whole displays good production skills and definitely stands up for its title.

The self-taught DJ is one who has surprised all. The reason behind that is his success even before turning 20 and not having any music background like many other teenage artists who tasted success. Better known by his friends as Kashif, he ventured into understanding software like FL Studios and Ableton by himself and has worked his way into building something that is of great vigor and blends energetic and melodic elements very well!

As a talented musician who was aware of his potential, he knew that he had the ability to shape his career by his standards, which is why he claims that he chose to start out on Monstercat. And although it took multiple submissions for him to craft a Monstercat worthy track, Rootkit eventually released both Do It and Too Late on the label.

He claims that the support given by the label to him is the reason for him to constantly stay associated with them. With a wise and mature taste of music, he continues to create music that has its own charm.

We think it’s a great track which you need to check out. Buy/Stream it here.
