Melodic bass producer SABAI returned to Monstercat today with singer-songwriter Danni Carra on their new emotive single, “Mirror.”
The poignant lyricism speaks to the magical pull of people coming together despite forces keeping them apart, with Danni Carra’s gorgeous vocals front and center. The dramatic layers backed by lush chord progressions and uplifting instrumentals showcase SABAI’s ability to bring authentic stories to the dancefloor.
SABAI shares, “This is easily my favourite release for SABAI this year. The best part of this song is the chorus section when Danni sings, “mirror on the wall.” I wanted to give a cinematic feel to this section because I can hear the crowd singing along with me when I play it out live.”
Danni Carra adds, “For me, there’s an endless desire to want to make things perfect, reflect, and fix what’s bending when you feel like it’s on its way to breaking. I want to live in that shine as long as possible before something dulls. At the end of the day, you’re the only one who can control your side of the story and the reflection you see in the mirror.
