Hamburg-based duo Session Victim have remixed the Bellaire single ‘Daytime’.

A majestic, club-ready rework, the Session Victim remix of ‘Daytime’ sees the pair deliver a stripped-back edit that’s simply made for the dancefloor. The original has racked up more than 600,000 Spotify streams and featured on Bellaire’s new EP ‘Daytime’, an acclaimed release described by Earmilk as “his finest work yet”.

“When I first heard Session Victim, I felt the vibe directly, it’s the true definition of house to me!” Bellaire enthuses. “We finally met for a gig in the UK and I’m so happy they remixed ‘Daytime’. They added a chill vibe to it and I couldn’t be happier about the result! ”

Session Victim add: “It’s no secret we have a soft spot for French house, and when Bellaire sent us ‘Daytime’ we were both immediately drawn to the tune’s elements reminiscent of that sound and era, meaning the likes of Alan Braxe & Fred Falke, Roulé Records etc.”

Hailing from the city of Lille in northern France, Bellaire makes the kind of pulsating music that can force even the laziest of punters to dance. He burst onto the scene with ‘Paris City Jazz’ in 2017, a debut single that has since amassed just short of 10 million Spotify streams. He followed this up with EPs ‘Saint Amour’ and ‘Contrasts’ featuring fellow budding house talent Georges.

Hauke Freer and Matthias Reiling aka Session Victim are an electronic duo who Crack Magazine insist have “nailed the formula for inducing wall-to-wall smiles on a dancefloor”. They have previously remixed tracks from Khruangbin, Midnight Magic and L’Impératrice amongst others, more recently dropping three-track EP ‘Two Crowns’.

The Session Victim remix of ‘Daytime’ sees the duo tap into their trademark sound while losing none of the funk and soul that makes the original so special.
