Having been a fan of dance music and Armin van Buuren since 2003, I was inspired to start my own electronic music publication with a very simple, and clear goal - to share electronic music with old, and new fans alike. Working alongside a great team has made me keep that goal alive, and build on it.

Shiba San is back with an exciting EP – “Downtown”

Shiba San goes to town on his new EP!

After the release of his much acclaimed Beatport #1 track – “All I Need” featuring Tim Barseko, Shiba San has released an amazing EP in “Downtown”.

The EP comes out on the Solardo imprint – which is a first for the artist. It features two thumping tracks, “Downtown” and “Crush That”.

The first and lead track starts on a dark, deep note, creating a haunting effect right from the beginning. As the beats get bouncy and prominent, the use of trippy musical elements takes prominence offering a really unique vibe to the track. With a consistent tempo, crisp transitions and deep bass lines, the track sucks you into its bouncy vibe.

The raw-sounding “Crush That” sees a really robotic texture as it opens. With a hypnotic feeling that the bass works give you, the track transports you to a whole new world. The speech-based vocals add a nice flavor to the track and its absolutely club-friendly vibe. The use of synth works in the right places makes the track all the more bright and vivid.

Emerging from the French hip-hop scene, the artist is someone who has created a remarkable reputation for himself in the industry. His breakthrough release “Okay” claimed the no.1 position on Beatport’s House chart for 82 days, earning plays from radio tastemakers Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Danny Howard whilst garnering support from Claude Von Stroke, Eats Everything and Green Velvet to name a few.

In 2018, the artist has released the Off To Funk EP on Green Velvet’s Relief Records and the Don’t Talk EP on Dirtybird. As he sets out on his North America residency tour, he is not limiting himself geographically and is also setting foot in Australia and Asia.

The enigmatic DJ shows no signs of stopping as he plans much more exciting stuff for the next year! We can’t wait to hear new music from his soon. What’s your take on this release? Comment below. Download the track here.
