The rollout to William Black’s forthcoming album nears its conclusion with the release of its fourth and final single, “My Own Advice” – a collaboration with ILLENIUM and Alana Springsteen, and it’s out Friday, October 13 via Lowly.
“My Own Advice” is the newest collaboration from ILLENIUM and William Black. The long-time friends have collaborated once previously on 2021’s “Superhero” off of ILLENIUM’s Fallen Embers Deluxe album. Now, they reunite with a new single that serves as the last off of Black’s upcoming, highly-anticipated third studio album.
The track is graced by a compelling vocal from rising 21-year-old artist-songwriter Alana Springsteen who’s received co-signs as one of the hottest names in country music by Rolling Stone and People to name a few.
“My Own Advice” is an easily streamable dance-pop hit with just the right amount of that future bass sound Black and ILLENIUM have become so synonymous with. It’s a record about self love. Sometimes the person we are the hardest on is yourself. We can be quick to offer friends advice, but we don’t take it ourselves.
William Black has become one of the leading artists in the melodic/future bass scene behind the strength of his first two albums, Pages and Pieces, and standout singles like “Back To U” with SLANDER and “On My Own” with Said The Sky. Now, with “Beautiful Nothing”, “Last Forever”, “In The Cold” (his collaboration with Dabin), “Lie” and “My Own Advice” as previews, audiences can expect an emotive and sonically diverse collection of songs on his next album that showcase Black’s growth as an artist and his ability to push musical boundaries.
