Deadmau5 hits out at ‘Deadmouse’ Musical, threatens legal action

1

Soooo Deadmau5 is back in the midst of yet another legal case. Been a while huh?

A deadmau5 themed musical was all set to hit the stage from July 3rd – 11th in Toronto; to be hosted by the Toronto Fringe Festival and Red Sandcastle Theatre. Here’s just a brief synopsis of what fans would expect,

“Deadmouse the Musical is a musical about a mouse who wants to be a house DJ but is discriminated against for being a mouse. Joel Zimmermouse must team up with his best friend David Goudda and his flame Cat Von D to overcome adversity and the dastardly mouse hating villain Avicheese.”

In case you still don’t believe us, here’s the official website for the show.

So, now that you do believe us, I’m sure you’d have realized that a certain Canadian DJ would not have been pretty amused by this stunt, especially since Joel Zimmerman was never even contacted regarding the play. Zimmerman’s lawyer has sent out a letter to the creators of the musical giving them a strict 24 hours to confirm cessation of the musical and all advertising activities regarding it.

Of course we all got a copy of it too as Joel tweeted out his feelings. Check it Out!

Though we’d love to see the musical, it would make better sense for the creators and theatre to just back away in this case. What say?
