F1 2023, the latest instalment in EA Sports’ critically acclaimed racing series, has unveiled its soundtrack, a lineup filled with a blend of established and emerging talent in the music scene.
The collection represents a wide variety of genres and styles, displaying EA’s commitment to creating a versatile audio environment that complements the dynamic on-track action.
Opening the lineup is 070 Shake’s ethereal track “Cocoon,” with a twist – it’s been remixed by renowned Dutch DJ Martin Garrix and Space Ducks, giving it an energetic twist. Then there’s 100 gecs’ glitchy, hyper-pop infused “757,” followed by 2hollis’s melancholic banger “FORFEIT.”
Anna Lunoe & Touch Sensitive’s “Real Talk” receives an electrifying remix from Boys Noize, creating an intoxicating sonic landscape. Anna of the North’s melodic and mesmerizing “I Do You” adds a touch of indie-pop to the mix, while BAYNK’s collaboration with DRAMA on “1 Chance” brings sultry electronica to the fore.
Catching Flies’ ambient and downtempo track “Oi” shows the chill side of the soundtrack, whereas DNMO’s “Speed of Light” is an exciting drum & bass track that fits right in with the racing theme. Flume’s “Go,” remixed by Otik, and Fred V’s collaboration with Hamzaa on “Freefall” contribute more lush electronic vibes.
One of the standout tracks is the electrifying collaboration “Alive” by Kx5, deadmau5, Kaskade, and The Moth & The Flame. The track perfectly encapsulates the thrilling sensation of high-speed racing.
LP Giobbi, one of the scene’s fast-rising stars, teams up with Little Jet on “Can’t Let You Go.” Her vibrant house style is a highlight in the game’s score.
Among other notable contributions are Rêve’s “Big Boom”, a thumping, energy-filled track; Skrillex’s collaboration with Noisia, josh pan & Dylan Brady, “Supersonic (My Existence)”; Solardo, Vintage Culture, and Lowes’ joint effort, “Adidas & Pearls”; and Tiësto’s collaboration with Tate McRae, “10:35.”
The soundtrack rounds off with tracks from Sophie and the Giants, Swedish House Mafia, The Chemical Brothers, Tseba, Unglued, Whiney, Lens, Wet Leg, Whyte Fang, and Wilkinson x Issey Cross, each adding their unique touch to the vibrant sonic tapestry of the game.
