While Italy announced it was lifting a whole bunch of Covid-19 restrictions starting earlier this month from February 1, 2022, there is still no relief for nightclubs or event venues.
As per an agreement reached by ministers last week, the restrictions on clubs and nighttime venues will be among a set of restrictions that will be revisited later this month.
Italy has so far seen around 11.5 million Covid-19 infections and over 150,000 deaths due to the pandemic. Italy assessed its situation by splitting provinces into 4 zones based on the level of infection. Currently, there are none in the highest level considered Red areas however, 6 in the orange area and 12 regions in the Yellow area as compared to only 3 in the white areas which are areas within the country with low rates of infection and thus deemed low risk.
In addition to the restrictions on the closure of clubs, the mask mandates for indoor and outdoor use are also set to stay in effect. The ‘Green Pass’ is currently used for the fully vaccinated to access entry to bars, restaurants, etc., and for travelers coming from the “Covid-free tourist corridors’ with added destinations as of February 1.

While Italy is treading lightly and continuing restrictions, elsewhere in Europe Denmark and England have ended all restrictions, and the White Isle announced that this years party season was scheduled to kick off one of his longest seasons to date in Ibiza.
