Monstercat Compound, an annual free all-ages block party produced by the Vancouver-based independent record label Monstercat, returns for its fourth year after a 2020 hiatus on Saturday, September 18.

Taking place at Monstercat HQ in Railtown as the only music festival currently approved on Vancouver city property, the festivities will include live electronic music across two stages with their largest and most diverse lineup yet, featuring never-before booked acts, new artists to Monstercat, and international favourites.

Visitors can expect performances from new and exciting Monstercat artists making their Compound debut on the Main Stage, alongside a lineup of acts curated by Westwood Recordings on the second stage.

The full lineup of artists playing the main stage include:

The Funk Hunters – Vancouver-based award-winning producers and DJs that have played the biggest dance floors in the world, including Coachella, Life Is Beautiful, Osheaga, Outside Lands, Burning Man, and more.

Tony Romera – A bass house producer hailing from Lyon, France who’s worked with the likes of Tchami and Good Times Ahead, and will release his debut Monstercat LP Introspection later this year.

Sabai – this Thailand-born, Vancouver-based producer has been making a name for himself in future bass and house since his Monstercat debut in 2019, earning over 17 million views on YouTube.

Eminence – the Canadian electronic music producer Dillon Wong (DLN) made his Monstercat debut with the song “Tanpopo” (also the label’s first trance release), which is included on ‘Monstercat 002 – Early Stage’.

OBLVYN – one of Monstercat’s newest artists, Catherine Bliemel, music producer and instrumental electronic artist from Edmonton, AB has been making waves with her expert production skills, blending classical piano melodies with refined synth-work.

Rylan Taggart – Since his first release in 2015, Rylan Taggart has transformed his house-inspired sound into what we know today; deep, forward-thinking, and always melodic.

Sam Steele – this bi-racial Canadian music producer is known for his fine-tuned, uplifting vocal and disco house. His taste for punchy rhythms and euphoric vocals is shaped by many years of being deeply involved in Vancouver’s diverse queer underground scene.

The Westwood Recording Stage will be welcoming Kotek, Defunk, Twitch artists Jessu & Pyka, Case of the Mondays, Juno-nominated So Sus, Shylow, and Sivz.

“We are thrilled to bring back Compound for its fourth year with brand new experiences and our biggest lineup yet,” says Jess Mitchell, Marketing Director at Monstercat. “After taking last year off, we’re looking forward to safely reuniting with our Vancouver community and showcasing incredible talent across music, art, tech, and education. Attendees can expect to see Monstercat artists making their Compound debut, as well as local veterans and rising stars across both stages.”

Visitors will also be able to take in some of Vancouver’s best local offerings including diverse food trucks, spacious beer gardens, notable street artists decorating giant wooden Monstercats live on the grounds, the return of the Monstercat Street Piano created by Roland Sound and Monstercat’s own design team, education panels on career-building and NFTs sponsored by MusicBC, an air-brushed tattoo station by JCI, and the return of the gaming zone by The Gaming Stadium featuring four-person Rocket League battles, Just Shapes and Beats, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat arcade games, and more.

The festivities will take place at Monstercat HQ, 380 Railway Street, Vancouver on Saturday, September 18, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m, and will stretch down Railway and Dunlevy streets.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to advance RSVP for free here – and for those seeking an enhanced experience, including premium lounge access, separate bar, separate toilets, better stage views, and a 3-month subscription to Monstercat Gold, a limited run of premium passes are available now.
