best edm artists 2019

2019 is coming to an end and many artists of the electronic dance music community stepped up their game and captured the hearts of many.

Here is a list of our favourite artists in 2019. We decided not to rank them as they shone in their own creative ways.

Belgium based DJ/Producer Amelie lens has had a great run this year. Amelie lens is one of the Front runners of the now rising techno wave which is seen all across the world. With amply strong yet not so heavy techno and acid techno, Amelie lens has placed herself on the chart. Amelie lens made her Tomorrowland mainstage debut this year and was seen hosting many EXHALE parties across Europe.

Jacques Journeé aka Act of Rage is a Dutch DJ/Producer. He is signed to the fabled Hardstyle record label “Minus is more” which is founded by the hardstyle legend DJ Luna. His recent release on the label, is his new album “Outrageous” which features not just hard-hitting but also unique sounding hardstyle tracks. He toured all across Europe playing shows such as Supremacy, Dominator, Defqon.1, Shockerz, Reverze, Intents Festival, Fatality, Dreamfields and many more.

Belgian techno spinner Charlotte de Witte has had a vivid year in the scene. She went on to host her 2nd edition of KNTXT at Sportpaleis in Antwerp. She also played the mainstage of Tomorrowland for the second time. With a mission to widen her concept “KNTXT”, she launched a new label under the same name where she released 2 EPs named “Selected” and “Pressure”. She was also listed at #7 in the alternative DJ Mag poll.

The godfather of hardstyle, DJ the prophet is one of the most notable DJs in the electronic scene this year. With a yearlong concept of “This is me” that gave out one Hardstyle/Hardcore banger per month, DJ the Prophet surely dominated hard dance charts of Beatport and garnered support from the likes of Dr. peacock, Ran-D and other. The legendary Scantraxx boss toured all over the world playing shows like Defqon 1, Qlimax, etc.

Italian trance legend Giuseppe Ottaviani had some interesting things to show this year. He released his new album “Evolver” this year which featured tracks that were live productions at the start. He stood out the most for bringing down a live setup that featured a synthesizer, Drum machine, and a midi to play things outlive. He achieved praise from the likes of Laidback Luke for keeping it real.

The Dynamic duo of Armin van Buuren and Benno De Goeij has put out their highly experimental trance album this year. Aptly named “Moons of Jupiter”, the album features 21 tracks, all named after moons of Jupiter. Although the album seems like it strays away from the basic idea of trance, it does induce similar vibes to the listeners. With experimentation comes brilliance and Gaia proved that once again.

Garrett Lockhart aka I_o is one of the artists that we suggested to look out for and has surely Delivered some big-time heat. I_o released three EPs this year named “Death by Techno”, “House of God” and “ACID 444” respectively. All the EPs did big numbers on Beatport.
