2019 is coming to an end and many artists of the electronic dance music community stepped up their game and captured the hearts of many.

Here is a list of our favourite artists in 2019. We decided not to rank them as they shone in their own creative ways.

AMELIE LENS

Belgium based DJ/Producer Amelie lens has had a great run this year. Amelie lens is one of the Front runners of the now rising techno wave which is seen all across the world. With amply strong yet not so heavy techno and acid techno, Amelie lens has placed herself on the chart. Amelie lens made her Tomorrowland mainstage debut this year and was seen hosting many EXHALE parties across Europe.

ACT OF RAGE

Jacques Journeé aka Act of Rage is a Dutch DJ/Producer. He is signed to the fabled Hardstyle record label “Minus is more” which is founded by the hardstyle legend DJ Luna. His recent release on the label, is his new album “Outrageous” which features not just hard-hitting but also unique sounding hardstyle tracks. He toured all across Europe playing shows such as Supremacy, Dominator, Defqon.1, Shockerz, Reverze, Intents Festival, Fatality, Dreamfields and many more.

CHARLOTTE DE WITTE

Belgian techno spinner Charlotte de Witte has had a vivid year in the scene. She went on to host her 2nd edition of KNTXT at Sportpaleis in Antwerp. She also played the mainstage of Tomorrowland for the second time. With a mission to widen her concept “KNTXT”, she launched a new label under the same name where she released 2 EPs named “Selected” and “Pressure”. She was also listed at #7 in the alternative DJ Mag poll.

DJ THE PROPHET

The godfather of hardstyle, DJ the prophet is one of the most notable DJs in the electronic scene this year. With a yearlong concept of “This is me” that gave out one Hardstyle/Hardcore banger per month, DJ the Prophet surely dominated hard dance charts of Beatport and garnered support from the likes of Dr. peacock, Ran-D and other. The legendary Scantraxx boss toured all over the world playing shows like Defqon 1, Qlimax, etc.

GIUSEPPE OTTAVIANI

Italian trance legend Giuseppe Ottaviani had some interesting things to show this year. He released his new album “Evolver” this year which featured tracks that were live productions at the start. He stood out the most for bringing down a live setup that featured a synthesizer, Drum machine, and a midi to play things outlive. He achieved praise from the likes of Laidback Luke for keeping it real.

GAIA

The Dynamic duo of Armin van Buuren and Benno De Goeij has put out their highly experimental trance album this year. Aptly named “Moons of Jupiter”, the album features 21 tracks, all named after moons of Jupiter. Although the album seems like it strays away from the basic idea of trance, it does induce similar vibes to the listeners. With experimentation comes brilliance and Gaia proved that once again.

I_o

Garrett Lockhart aka I_o is one of the artists that we suggested to look out for and has surely Delivered some big-time heat. I_o released three EPs this year named “Death by Techno”, “House of God” and “ACID 444” respectively. All the EPs did big numbers on Beatport. His new twist on techno is widely liked by his audience which allowed him to play big stages such as EDC and Electric Zoo. He also released a collaboration with the likes of Tommy Trash and Jauz. With a goal to make “America’s techno great again”, I_o continues to amuse the crowds he performs to.

JACK BACK

David Guetta’s Underground moniker Jack Back has surely made some big waves in the scene this year. From having a myriad of releases to hosting parties consistently all across Europe to playing a residency in Ibiza all throughout summer Jack Back aka David Guetta once again proved that he is the best at what he does.

JONAS ADEN

Jonas Aden was definitely the most talked-about mainstream electronic producer of 2019, with a string of hits such as “I don’t speak French”, “Your Melody”, “Riot”, “Tell me a lie” and “Library Thugs” on labels such as Musical Freedom and Hexagon. Jonas Aden also focused on his youtube channel which truly garnered a bigger audience over time.

MORTEN

Danish DJ/Producer Morten Breum made some big moves this year. He collaborated with superstar DJ David Guetta to produce “Never be alone” and “Make it to Heaven”. He also remixed Avicii’s Heaven alongside David Guetta. All of his releases went on to make Beatport top ten charts.
