aiwaska interview

Aiwaska on first meeting with Teologen, new single, and more.

T.H.E – Hey Aiwaska, how are you, what’s good and bad in your world right now?

Aiwaska – Now is a very productive time for me. I’m focusing on the NFT market right now. Creating my own Meta-human to perform in the Metaverse. This year I had already a similar experience of performing at the Decentraland site, I want to develop in this. Also, I am creating an NFT collection of Metaanimals, and all profit from it we donate to support wild nature on Earth. Regarding music, it’s also lots of work in the process. More than 10 tracks & remixes will be released this year, plus I am working on my live show, finally.

T.H.E – When did you first meet with Teologen, why did you decide to work together?

Aiwaska – In all my tracks I use only male vocals, and in this genre, it’s very difficult to find the right mood for me, but when I accidentally heard Teologen’s work on Spotify I fell in love with his voice, I was very inspired by the style and timbre, and I immediately decided to write to him and suggested to make a collab.

T.H.E – How did you link up for the Poesie music EP? Why does it work? –

Aiwaska – I like the output of the label, I play many tracks from their catalog, also Poesie music is related to the legendary Get Physical Music. so why not ;)

T.H.E – What inspired this new tune? Where was it written for, and what setting did you have in mind?

Aiwaska – I produced this track in Tulum. The amazing atmosphere, which I was imbued with, inspired me. Also, while in Mexico, I saw a documentary about Bolivia, it was about the road of death. Thus, the puzzle took shape in my head and the result was this track.

T.H.E – What gear did you use when producing the track?

Aiwaska – I worked with digital & analog sound. I used virtual plugins & my fav Moog and Korg hardware synths. After the vocals were done, the arrangement was sent for analog mixing.

T.H.E – How much has the last year of the pandemic affected the music you have made, the style and sound of it?

Aiwaska – When I create music, I always look to the future, but I am inspired by the legendary artists of the past, so the present has little effect on me.

T.H.E – Where does the impulse to create something come from for you? What role do sources of inspiration like dreams, other forms of art, personal relationships, politics etc play?

Aiwaska – I am inspired by travel, art in any of its manifestations, brilliant people, nature and the purity of the universe. Music occupies the first place in the hierarchy of spiritual sciences, followed by painting and sculpture. First there was sound and vibration, and only then did life appear.

T.H.E – What are the most important factors for the ideal party? –

Aiwaska – All must come together, good venue, right people, music.

T.H.E – Who are 3 up and coming producers who you have your eye on at the moment? –

Aiwaska – I am a music lover. I listen to a lot of different music. I don’t focus on just one genre. But from the club dance scene, in my sets most often Kienemusik: Adam Port, & ME, Rampa.

T.H.E – Who would be your dream artist to collaborate with?

Aiwaska – All dreams come true. I’m inspired by the vocals of Rufus Du Sol, WhoMadeWho.

T.H.E – What else have you got coming up?

Aiwaska – May-June will be significant for me. I will start hosting my new show in the US on Insomniac Radio. In addition, this year I want to launch an interactive virtual show Aiwaska Planet. Many upcoming releases on Expoited Club, Bar 25 Music etc.
