Check out our chat below where we speak to Game Chasers & D.O.N.S. about the new single and loads more.

T.H.E – Hi Guys welcome to T.H.E – Music Essentials! Where are you in the world right now?

Shant (Game Chasers) – Right now im in Lebanon, trapped in my room aka my music studio

Clint (Game Chasers) – Right now I am in my living room, laptop in hand in sunny Lebanon.

Oli (D.O.N.S.) – I´m close to Manchester/UK

T.H.E – What’s the best new record you’ve heard this week?

Shant & Clint (Game Chasers) – EDX – We Can´t Give Up, always loving hes unique style

Oli (D.O.N.S.) – Crazi by Sharam

T.H.E – You’re releasing your new single ‘Can’t Let You Go’ on Somn’thing Records, tell us about the release and how you hooked up with the label.

Shant (Game Chasers) – When we released our track “Game Chasers Ft Amber Skyes – All Night Long” this track got really good DJ and radio support coz of the great label work and support. Working on Can’t Let You Go with D.O.N.S. and Baxter was a real cool experience. Baxter´s vocal was really inspiring and enticed us to come up with kinda Future House track with a real classical House vibe.

Clint (Game Chasers) – Game Chasers have worked with Somn’thing a number of times with remixes and original tracks, just seemed like the perfect fit when we finished this tune. The track reflects on where we are going as a duo and what direction we’re taking our sound for end of the year and the start of 2018. Plus getting to work with our mate D.O.N.S. and Baxter is great experience.

Oli (D.O.N.S.) – I´ve met Clint last year during ADE and we started talking and got along really great from the first moment on. Right after ADE we decided to do a collaboration and while sussing out the labels that could potentially be our partner for the track, Clint told me about the great work Somn´thing Records had done on pevious releases with the Game Chasers so we all touched base with David. I already worked with Baxter before and we decided to take one of his new songs he wrote and got busy in the studio and crafted the tune around it and the result was “Can´t Let You Go” on Somn´thing Records.

T.H.E – Are you a hardware or software man and what are your preferred bits of studio kit?

Shant (Game Chasers) – I´m a software freak for the moment but I will switch to hardware if I´ll have the chance though,
my preferred studio kit are good speakers and a couple of good VST plug-ins.

Clint (Game Chasers) – I’d have to say software for myself not only am I producing with Shant in the studio I also produce for radio stations and radio shows. Using abelton mostly but Shant wants me to switch to fruity loops.

Oli (D.O.N.S.) – It used to be hardware especially the TB 303 but now it´s more or less software only and I still love Rob Papens SubBoomBass

T.H.E – As DJ’s you’ve been played the world over, how does House scene compare from country to country?

Shant (Game Chasers) – Djing in Lebanon is a bit different coz here they like more commercial remixes and revamped classic tunes but when we play in Europe we´re spinning way more House and Tech House.

Clint (Game Chasers) – Depends really, djing in Lebanon is mostly commercial remixes (unless we’re opening up for a big act) but if we’re playing like Greece, Netherlands… we can be a bit more open with tech house tracks and more unknown artists.

Oli (D.O.N.S.) – That is def. a question which may take a whole book to answer. Certainly different countries have different scenes. There might be a global tendency/trend but depending on the country they all have their own uniqueness. London is different than Berlin and Berlin is again different than Amsterdam or Ibiza.

T.H.E – Looking back, what piece of precious advice would you give to yourself?

Shant (Game Chasers) – I would say to myself, have faith, keep doing what you´re doing and one day you gonna make it.

Clint (Game Chasers) – Just to keep at it, at times things are going to get tough and even unbearable… but it will all be worth it in the end.

Oli (D.O.N.S.) – Do not overpaste and bare in mind that success has a lot to do with patience, hard work and always a bit of luck.

T.H.E – Who else would you love to collaborate with?

Shant (Game Chasers) – I know it sounds crazy. Axwell!! this guy is my biggest inspiration in electronic dance music.

Oli (D.O.N.S.) – I would have loved to collaborate with James Brown which is obviously too late now but from current artists maybe the Game Chasers ;)

Clint (Game Chasers) – So many names… But right now anything Zonderling is gold… yep would love to work on a track with the boys.

T.H.E – We come to your house and raid your record collection, which embarrassing record do you need to chuck out the window before we arrive?

Shant (Game Chasers) – Luckily you won´t find a single trace of embarrassment as I simply don´t own any records. I´m just too young and missed this era like I missed the CD era too. I´m a digital junkie when it comes to hear music, ha ha ha.

Clint (Game Chasers) – I would have to say “The Cheeky Girls – The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) I promise you I didn’t buy that record… I had it given to me years, years ago as a promo ahhaahhaha

Oli (D.O.N.S.) – Luckily the one I had in mind is not on YouTube but it´s closely followed by this embarassement: Dschinghis Khan – Dschinghis Khan

Which record makes you say “Damn, I wish I’d made that”?

Shant (Game Chasers) – Stardust – Music Sounds Better With You , beautiful masterpiece.

Clint (Game Chasers) – Orbital – Halcyon on and on… Still sounds ahead of its time…

Oli (D.O.N.S.) – Stardust – Music Sounds Better With You

What’s in the pipeline that you can tell us about?

Shant (Game Chasers) – As always I´m really busy in the studio working on new productions. These days I feel really inspired as things are moving in a great and right direction. We´re signed to a new management company and they really keep us busy which is a great thing. Currently I´m working on some new Vocal House tunes mainly as few follow up singles for the labels we´re signed to, then a few club driven instrumental tracks and on top we have quite some remix work on our plate. Getting ready for our upcoming gigs in Europe like in Dubrovnik and during Amsterdam´s Dance Event (ADE) is another nice side effect of our work. It´s a welcome alternative to our Beirut club residencies.

Clint (Game Chasers) – Right now working on a bunch of new singles, remixes and tour plans for this year and the start of 2018! Alot of new vocal tunes and we have two really good club tracks. Plus tours already in Dubrovnik this October, ADE is coming up and already in talks for something big for new years eve.

Oli (D.O.N.S.) – I have a next single coming up on Somn´thing Records feat. Alexandra Prince, a new single out in the US on Carrillo Music and I´m currently working on three new D.O.N.S. tunes and many more for my other projects, as they need some TLC too. On top I have quite a good amount gigs and festivals coming up and ADE where we will host our own labelshowcase is approaching fast. I think so far I have six confirmed gigs during ADE
