High-flying Italian DJ and producer Noizy Mark has been causing huge waves since he exploded onto the Dance music scene.
Armed with a release catalogue that includes some of the scene’s freshest Electro infused Progressive anthems such as ‘Arion’, ‘Vesper’ and ‘Release Yourself’, he has released on premiere labels such as Eclypse Records and Mezsed Up, gaining support from heavyweights like Afrojack and Deniz Koyu along the way – it’s no wonder he is dubbed Italy’s hottest new export. We had the opportunity to sit down with Noizy Mark and talk about his career to date.
T.H.E – Hi Noizy Mark, how are you and what’s going on in your world at the moment?
Noizy Mark – Thanks for having me. I’m currently on the beach in between a studio session, so no complaints!
T.H.E – Where are you currently based?
Noizy Mark – In my hometown Palermo, South of Italy.
T.H.E – How would you describe your sound?
Noizy Mark – I’ve been working on my sound for 2 years now and I’m still trying to shape it. Energy, Emotion and ‘Weirdness’ are the main goals I always aim for, as well as making sure I challenge myself to not just create the same old thing every time. Innovating is key.
T.H.E – Who were your influences growing up?
Noizy Mark – I got in touch with music when I was 12 years old, thanks to my uncle’s musical influence. He’s a guitarist so he introduced me to bands like AC/DC, The Beatles and more. Some years after that i discovered guys like Axwell and Deadmau5 and they have really inspired and changed my whole outlook on music.
T.H.E – How did you get involved in the Dance music business?
Noizy Mark – Probably about 2 years in, just from studying and producing music. My first release was on Patric La Funk’s label and the track was called ‘Trusted’. After that I got 2 more releases on other small labels but those records were supported by big guys like Afrojack, Fedde Le Grand and Deniz Koyu. Getting huge artists to play your music really helps your confidence and so it just makes me drive harder to achieving bigger goals.
T.H.E – Where would you like to see yourself in the months ahead?
Noizy Mark – Releasing all this music I have right now, playing shows, doing collabortions, and travelling around the world.
T.H.E – Which is your ultimate career dream?
Noizy Mark – To continue doing what I love for as long as I can.
T.H.E – Your latest releases include ‘Arion’ on Mezsed Up Records and ‘Vesper’ on Eclypse. How have the records been received by your fellow DJs and are you happy with the success of them?
Noizy Mark – I’m very happy and proud of these two tracks and I was amazed to see the great responses I got on them. One of the milestone moments was hearing Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman playing ‘Arion’ in their live show in Liverpool. I want to thank Mezsed Up and Eclypse for believing in me and my music!
T.H.E – Who’s inspiring you in 2016?
Noizy Mark – Me, myself and I! (laughs). Seriously, I’m getting a lot of inspiration from my daily life and from people who surround me. I have been working very close with my brother Adrien Mezsi for around a year now, and we give a lot of inspiration and honest feedback to each other – just pushing each other constantly. Not a lot of people give you that these days. I also get inspiration from guys like Axwell & Ingrosso and Skrillex. They’re always innovating and challenging themselves.
T.H.E – If you could choose, who would you like to collaborate with?
Noizy Mark – Well, the list is really long but I’d say Axwell & Ingrosso right now!
T.H.E – Tell us something not many people know about Noizy Mark?
Noizy Mark – When I’m not in the studio I do boxing. And of course being Italian, I can definitely cook some great pasta! (laughs).
