Swedish DJ and Producer Ken Bauer has a string of successful releases under his belt over the span of his career and has recently been making the transition into the Future House scene with each release.
His latest release ‘Darkness’ has certainly cemented his place as one to watch in the coming year as the track has garnered incredible support from DJs, labels and tastemakers from all over the globe.
Aditya – Hey Ken, great to hear from you. What have you been up to this week?
Ken Bauer – I have been busy signing to new tracks to my label.
Aditya – Talk us through your newest release ‘Darkness’?
Ken Bauer – It is a pulsating track with super cool vocals featuring a steady beat driving the track from start to finish. It works great in the beginning of my DJ Sets to warm up the crowd.
Aditya – How did you come about working with NK/LA and Yantosh?
Ken Bauer – NK/LA reached out to me a while ago having worked with Yantosh on the track. They asked me if I could put some Ken Bauer DNA on it which I did. To be honest I didn’t do that much. The track was in a really good shape when I got it.
Aditya – When creating this track NK/LA and Yantosh, what ideas and influences did you bring to the table?
Ken Bauer – I added some Future Rave leads on top of the track as well as adding some percussion and FX driving the track forward, basically bringing some elements of my signature sound into the track.
Aditya – Do you enjoy collaborating with different artists to make music or do you prefer working alone?
Ken Bauer – I love working witch others. My biggest problem though is that I seem to be the only one in the Future Rave scene that uses Studio One. LOL. I know Maddix is using Studio One but I haven’t been able to convince him to collaborate on a track with me yet.
Aditya – How would you compare the track to some of your other releases?
Ken Bauer – This track is a bit different compared to my solo releases as it is has a more laidback feeling. It do works wonder in the club and lounge and I use it on my warmups.
Aditya – Do you have a favourite section of the tune?
Ken Bauer – It would be the vocal intro.
Aditya – What other projects are you working on at the moment?
Ken Bauer – I am working with my label Future Rave Music helping a few up and coming artists finishing their releases so that they are ready for release early 2022.
Aditya – Got any advice for up-and-coming producers wanting to crack the scene?
Ken Bauer – First I would purchase a few Future Rave soundbanks (including my own that will be released next year ;-) to the sound right. Then I would study some Future Rave tutorials on Youtube including the outstanding one made my David Guetta himself when he showed how he made the Future Rave remix of Titanium.
