Alexander Sukhochev (aka Sashanti) is a creatively gifted person who has played around with many art forms including journalism, photography, writing, promotion and DJing.

During the twenty years of his artistic career he became a prize winning journalist, displayed his photos at various exhibitions around the world and released a best-selling book in Russia about Goa called “The Goa Syndrome”. Music though is the most important among all, being a fuel for all his achievements.

Next up for the eclectic DJ is a festival which holds great significance for Sashanti – SulaFest 2016! We had the chance to catch up with Alexander and speak to him about his connect with SulaFest, his love for Goa and his favourite Sula wines! Read on… :)

Khushrav – Hi Alexander, I’d first like to start off by asking you how you feel playing at an event like SulaFest here in India.

Sashanti – I have been a part of SulaFest almost from the very beginning and it has become kind of an addiction for me. This is definitely one of the most important events of the year for me.

Khushrav – You’ve been an avid lover of Goa, which is very evident. How did the love for Goa come up?

Sashanti – This is an unconditional love that comes straight from the heart.

Khushrav – This is not the first time you will be performing at SulaFest. What are you hoping to gain this time from the crowd and how do you feel things have progressed since your first performance here?

Sashanti – I don’t associate with the fest to gain anything, I’m sure it will be another perfectly enjoyable weekend of my life. SulaFest is definitely growing bigger every year, and it’s all about bringing more ideas, more possibilities and so much more fun for all of us.

Khushrav – Which would be the one place you’d move to (if you had to) if you weren’t allowed into Goa anymore?

Sashanti – I can’t even think of leaving Goa ever!

Khushrav – As a regular performer here I’ve got to ask, what’s your favourite Sula wine?

Sashanti – My favourite Sula wines are the Dindori Reserve Shiraz and Rasa Shiraz.

Khushrav – Thanks a ton! Looking forward to seeing you live at the festival. :)

Sashanti – Looking forward to another rocking SulaFest too! Cheers :)
