Thought to be a technical and musical genius by many, Sander van Doorn is without a doubt one of the world’s most essential, influential and popular DJ/Producers in dance music today.

Sander has become synonymous with excellence – both production wise and in front of the thousands he plays to, nightly. He is truly one of the strongholds in dance music. A generation defining artist, that reshapes our perception of what dance music can be and he does it all with that electrifying Sander van Doorn-smile.

Since the Sensation brand first came to life in the Amsterdam Arena on July 1st 2000, over 2 million people across 30 countries have danced, celebrated, and experienced one of the most widely revered events in the world.

Fast forward to the present day, and the Sensation name is still at the forefront of the dance music scene, bigger and stronger than ever, and now celebrating its 15th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Sensation will be returning to Amsterdam Arena with an exclusive one-off edition, Sensation ‘The Legacy’. We had a chance to speak to Sander about it, read on to know what he had to say!

T.H.E – How does it feel to be a part of this one-off edition? What was your reaction when you first heard about this?

Sander van Doorn – Being asked for the 15 year anniversary of this incredible event was such a huge honor. Over the years I’ve performed at quite a few Sensations and they’re always very special. The organization has been putting up such incredible shows for all this time and seeing them all come together will be really awesome!

T.H.E – You have been a part of the “Sensation” festivals in the past. What are your favourite memories? What is the best part of this festival?

Sander van Doorn – You know how the whole EDM community usually gets associated with solidarity and unison? Sensation really represents that in the ultimate way, everyone wears white and everyone is just experiencing this incredible show for the night. It’s really something else, nothing like a usual club experience.

T.H.E – What are you looking forward to the most about this edition? What can we expect from your set?

Sander van Doorn – I sort of spoiled it in the first answer, but Duncan Stutterheim said in a Dutch radioshow that they are going to use parts of every past show in this event and that’ll be so cool! It’ll bring up memories of shows in the past and will undoubtedly make up for an incredible new show.
