Singer/ songwriter EMI has revealed the official video for the women’s empowerment anthem – Bad Friends.

The singer, best known for her hit ‘Sip It Slow’, is now out with another track that heading towards becoming a hit.

The video begins with a very raw treatment, which has a vintage feeling to it. Enamored with pinks and purples, the track shows EMI having fun with her friends, partying and cruising around the city. She definitely is proud of showing her ‘Bad Friends’ to the world.

The track, co-produced with Shanti, itself has a very pop vibe and is slow in it’s composition. The vocals are very prominent and totally complements the synth-based production. Drawing influences of various genres like R&B, Rap and bass-pop, the track exudes all the right feels.

Being absolutely bold with her approach on this song and the video, she says “Bad Friends is about appreciating and wanting the best for your friends, and not giving the time of day to men who don’t deserve your energy. I wanted this video to just be a visual representation of hot girls that have their shit together, and give no screen time to any men. This one is for the ladies.”

EMI has been making quite some noise since the release of her 2016 single, ’Phantom’ which gathered a lot of support. She has also toured along with the likes of Young Thug and The Neighbourhood. This video release a follow-up to her debut mixtape Planet, which is a compilation of 8 tracks.

Currently working in the studio with executive producer Mally Mall (Justin Bieber, Rae Sremmurd), EMI’s upcoming project is set to drop later this year. Let’s see what she has in store for the future!
