The release of the remixes of Guy Gerber’s hit single “What To Do” was much anticipated. The remix pack has finally arrived and sees music from amazing producers like &ME and DJ Jes. Out on Guy’s RUMORS imprint, the package is the 15th release on it.
The first remix from &ME is one that starts off with gentle beats that are backed by subtle synth-lines and a dark vibe. As we venture deeper into the track, one would be charmed by the bright music and distinctly catchy piano chords. While that happens, the bass guitar also plays its role, amplifying the impact of the track. Dynamic in its own right, the track is one that holds your attention right throughout- thanks to the emotive nature of the production. The latter half gets a little brighter as the vocals also kick in just before the climax.
A stark contrast to the earlier remix is what DJ Jes’ remix portrays right from the beginning. As the thumping beats, crisp cymbals and a bouncy vibe take the lead off the track, one’s energy is instantly on the rise. Making use of catchy music and percussive elements at the right time, the producer keeps surprising you. The track gets really catchy and serves as a great refresher during your time at the club!
Guy Gerber has been on the rise for the past few years with constant mentions on the Top 10 live performer list from Resident Advisor. His record label RUMORS has also been releasing some amazing music which also includes works from the likes of Seth Troxler, DJ Tennis, and Chaim.
The remix package precedes Guy’s avant-garde Ibiza residency, RUMORS – with the party brand hosting the likes of Danny Tenaglia, DJ Seinfeld and Bedouin at the stunning Destino resort for a landmark fifth consecutive year on the Balearic island.
The remix pack is certainly one that tries to go beyond the limits of genre and we much give due credit to the artists for that. With that, Guy’s reach has also increased and it only means more amazing music in the future!
