Returning to his label that pushes lyrical boundaries, Inja enlists ArchiTek for fierce D&B melter ‘Atom Splitter’ via his IM Smiling imprint.
Fresh off a collaboration with Jolliffe for New Perspective via René LaVice’s DeVice label that saw support from Sarah Story on BBC Radio 1, multi talented DJ, songwriter, poet and x5 D&B Arena Award winning MC Inja takes it up a notch on ‘Atom Splitter’. ]Continuing to demonstrate why he’s one of the best in the game, Inja holds no limits, being able to deliver striking lyrics with significant messages that resonate across mental health, relationships, self care, women’s rights, politics and more.
From releasing on London brand DNB Allstars to closing out Boomtown Festival with Bristol’s A Little Sound, Mandidextrous, and Selecta J-Man with collaboration Hold Your Rhythm, 2022 was a massive year for Inja. The multi-faceted artist’s contribution to the scene is endless with a huge catalogue of releases including Lumberjackin’ – Vocal Mix with Serum, Blow Them Away, and Cous Cous with Bou to name only a few.
Launching his unique live show This Is Inja back in 2021 the vision has taken off in the past year with huge crowds witnessing him perfect DJing, MCing, mixing and singing all at once. Performed with a huge smile on his face, he recently showcased his This Is Inja live show 360 style for Worried About Henry in Brighton. Meanwhile, he graces stages touring internationally for his in demand MCing skills, performing at Printworks and Warehouse Project whilst also contributing his lyrical fire and unmatched stage presence to legendary crew Kings Of The Rollers formed of Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner.
Elsewhere, Inja also uses his voice as an incredible writer and poet. Having supported causes like CALM with spoken word projects and Amnesty International on their Words That Burn project where he wrote a poem called She Just Wanna Dance, Inja uses his talent to show support and highlight topics that need addressing. His first track on IM Smiling, Funktown Riddim (Who’s Got The Packet?), caused a huge reaction across the industry as politically charged lyrics called out the double standards of the UK government.
Meanwhile, fresh face ArchiTek brings production skills to ‘Atom Splitter’ that have steadily captured industry attention over the past year. The producer’s talent for shamelessly unpredictable basement weapons have seen him close for Interplanetary Criminal at the Shinbo Summer Carnival on the same roster as the Alchemist and Carasel, perform for Devilman, and DJ and MC for Window Kid. Honing his skills playing energetic live sets to animated crowds with Oxford’s GRO:FM collective, ArchiTek looks towards a promising 2023.
The two artists now combine their multi-genre talents on a throttling dynamite cut. Inja describes the endless possibilities of the earth-shattering single, “In a time where the world is living in confusion, splitting atoms is becoming more and more likely. Anything can happen.” Featuring his relentless lyrical flow, pressurised by a menacing force, threatening bass, and meteoric drops, ‘Atom Splitter’ is an undeniable face-melter that is sure to do damage on the dance floor.
