In a time of widespread vacuum of originality in regards of visual design, Aeronautic Records is a refreshing view in the bass music scene, tending to the futuristic side of sonic scenery.

Based in Detroit & Chicago (US) respectively, their focus lies within the realm of unrestricted visions in futuristic bass music. Supporting and pushing innovative sound creators, the imprint is being led by Satta Don Dada, whose endeavors in music have yielded him avid support from Mixmag, FACT Magazine, Boiler Room and other trusted publications, alongside Atmaan, a prolific DJ and producer residing in between Los Angeles and the depths of Chicago.”

For their next release, Aeronautic is proudly presenting the forward-thinking music made by aspiring artist OktoRed & label co-manager Atmaan, including a remix by Mollusck. Set to around 130 bpm the EP is a glistening exhibition of playful, footwork-esque groove infusions – bathing keen listeners in rhythmic space, complexity and oceans of sub weight.

The straight-forward kicks in OktoRed’s ‘Slug Funk’ accompany interstellar arpeggios, conceiling the intense discharge of hefty low end, reminiscent of deep Dubstep.

As cleverly intertwined as the aforementioned elements, ‘Worm Jazz’ takes the path to a more up-beat alley, emitting a mixture of natural-sounding drum elements and anthemic samples – groovy! Standing strong and clear in its minimal attire, the resulting sound-scape is sure to invigorate dances and open-minded individuals alike.”

The EP as a whole is strongly embedded with influences of Funk, Disco and Breaks, presenting their own version of said roots in a modern fashion. Concluding the showcase, OktoRed & Atmaan’s collaboration has been given the remix treatment by Atmaan, who actually credits Molluscks, with their tune ‘Tentacle Boogie’. Energetic, upfront drums pave the way within a silky layer of atmospheric dust, untethering an unwieldy bassline and catchy lead. Music for forward-minded people, if you consider yourself to be one.
