Chicagoans Nick Gunn and Carmen Rainier of (We Are) Nexus aim to shake up the electronic dance music scene.
Driven by music and powered by the love of performing, Nexus have shown in a short amount of time that they are a musical force to be reckoned with! The duo, comprised of producer/composer Nick Gunn and vocalist/lyricist Carmen Rainier, are no strangers to the music industry. Gunn is a classically trained musician and producer who had sold over two million units worldwide over the course of his career. His production skills, as applied to (We Are) Nexus, are complimented by Rainier’s intelligent lyrics and business-savvy. The two-person team self-produce everything – from their music to all things business.
“Truth is, I run the show,” attests Rainier, the 32-year-old singer/songwriter who also manages the act’s business operations, “but it’s so that Nick can do absolutely nothing but produce music day in and day out. He wears the producer hat, and I wear all the others.”
