Holding true to its name, this EP is a perfect representation of Tonique’s talent for creating versatile and multi-instrumental productions. Brooding with an uplifting inflection, the title track ‘Lit Up’, features a groovy bass line, bouncy piano chords and jazzy guitar riffs that are perfectly paired against the soulful vocals from Canadian indie-electro band, Dirty Radio, who have been previously featured on one of Tonique’s tracks. ‘Fallin’, the EP’s smoother yet equally as lively venture, combines pulsing percussions that are centered around a rhythmic melody and filtered syncopated vocals to create a perfect summer anthem that could send ripples straight through any dance floor. Throughout the whole EP, Tonique succeeds in delivering two perfectly balanced funky house productions, reminiscent of old school, but infectiously cheerful vibes that have now grown to become his signature sound.
