Burning man has revealed the temple design for the festival’s 2020 edition.
Burning man has been setting themes for its yearly undertakings and this year’s theme is “The Multiverse”.
“The Multiverse” is said to be centered on the exploration of possibility of infinite realities of existence. The announcement also explains how physics is having a tough time dealing with it and how the organization is willing to explore this broad and widely non graspable topic.
Honoring the stellar theme of this year, the new temple is given the title “Empyrean”, which denotes to a place in heaven which is occupied by fire according to ancient cosmology. Empyrean is also the place where Dante meets god in “Paradiso”.
“Empyrean” is an eight-point star which is 200 feet in diameter and is 70 feet tall. Laurence “Renzo” Verbeck and Sylvia Adrienne Lisse have once again paired up to design the temple.
Katie Hazard, Associate Director for Burning Man Arts said: “Every year, we explore a spectrum of design submissions from our community’s artists and builders, and we approach our decision with the goal of creating a special physical space on playa for Black Rock City’s citizens to share their reflections. Empyrean was chosen for its lovely geometry and inclusive design, as well as for its strong leads and crew who have demonstrated the experience, integrity and feasibility necessary to create this unique space. We can’t wait to see their vision come to life”
This iconic festival has been graced by legends such as Carl Cox and Goa Gil over the period of time.
2020’s edition of Burning Man will span from August 30th to September 7th in the Black Rock Desert with an audience of 80,000 people experiencing infinite versions of realities while they look through the kaleidoscope of quantum super positioning.
