GTA VI Just Annihilated Deadpool and Wolverine’s Record

Rockstar Games just pulled off a record-breaking move that’s got the entire internet buzzing.

The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI has become the biggest video launch in entertainment history, clocking in a massive 475 million views across platforms within just 24 hours. Yep, it just smashed the numbers Deadpool and Wolverine were celebrating not long ago.

For comparison, the first trailer for GTA VI, released in December 2023, brought in 93 million views in its first day, pretty impressive. But this second drop? It’s a whole other beast. To put things in perspective, Deadpool and Wolverine scored 365 million views, and even Avengers: Endgame, a global box office monster, pulled in 289 million in the same 24-hour window. GTA VI blew past them all, and with a delayed release now scheduled for May 2026, that kind of viewership says fans are still very much locked in.

Beyond just viewership, the trailer’s soundtrack is exploding too. The featured track, Hot Together by The Pointer Sisters, saw a mind-blowing 182,000% surge in Spotify streams after it played in the new trailer. That’s no typo. This is the kind of ripple effect GTA has on pop culture, and it’s not the first time either. The first trailer used Tom Petty’s Love Is A Long Road, which also saw a streaming revival after its debut.

Spotify’s head of editorial, Sulinna Ong, told The Hollywood Reporter that “Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else”, and she’s not exaggerating. Music has always been woven into GTA’s DNA, and fans clearly love discovering or rediscovering classic tracks tied to its world.

Even with Rockstar pushing the game to 2026, the trailer proves they’re still dominating headlines and fan hype like it’s launch day. If a two-minute video can cause this much chaos, imagine what’s going to happen when the full game finally drops. One thing’s for sure, nobody’s doing it like Rockstar.
