Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is about to get a major content boost-and if Saber Interactive’s Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits is to be believed, this is just the beginning.
In a recent interview with IGN, Willits revealed that while the exact roadmap is still being finalized, there’s a lot more in store for Space Marine 2 than what fans currently know. He confirmed the team is already planning beyond the Year 1 roadmap and hinted at more surprises down the line.
“Our exact plans for the future of Space Marine 2’s post-launch support are still being ironed out at this time,” Willits said, “but we’re already committed to supporting it beyond our Year 1 roadmap. We’ve got new missions, new weapons, and a new class currently in the works, on top of which are many more surprises we have yet to announce. We have a lot for players to be excited about.”
Coming up next is Season 4, and it’s shaping up to be a major update. At the center of it is the all-new ‘Siege Mode’, a horde-style experience where squads of three players fight off endless waves of increasingly tough enemies.
But ‘Siege’ is far from the only new feature. Willits outlined additional content packed into Season 4. Two DLC packs will launch alongside the new mode: the White Scars Chapter Pack and the Blood Angels Cosmetic Pack, both exclusive to Season Pass holders.
Players can also expect a brand-new PvP mode, a new Chaos enemy type, and several mechanical improvements. These include perk rebalancing across classes, tweaks to the highest difficulty setting (Absolute), and the option to play as a shield-less Bulwark wielding a Thunder Hammer.
“There’s more to it too,” Willits teased, “but you’ll have to wait a little longer.”
The buzz around Space Marine 2 has been growing steadily since its launch, and Saber Interactive seems determined to keep the momentum going. While many games fade out after launch, Space Marine 2 looks set for a long and evolving life thanks to Saber’s ongoing support.
With new game modes, weapons, and enemy types still under wraps, fans have plenty of reasons to stay engaged. Whether you’re deep into the campaign or dominating in PvP, the fourth season and beyond promise to shake things up in big ways.
The future of Space Marine 2 is looking massive-and Tim Willits wants you to know that the best is still to come.
