After a few days shy of two years, The Martin Garrix Show is sprouting again for its fifth season tomorrow on YouTube.
Garnering anywhere from 500k to 5m views per episode, the popular docu-series will come as a dove to wide-eyed fans who have eagerly tarried for its return.
At a runtime of typically eleven to eighteen minutes, the production aims at capsulizing the day-to-day events of the forenamed music producer and superstar, and passes the audience the telescope.
Season 5 sets the stage for some of Garrix’s first shows following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. It will also explore Area21, his extraterrestrial-themed project with American music producer and singer-songwriter, Maejor (formerly known as Maejor Ali), and the creative process of their debut studio album together “Greatest Hits Vol. 1,” released last November.
From the teaser we can also see Garrix alongside Bono and The Edge, two lead members of the Irish rock band U2; and later on, alongside two legendary big room figures Tiësto and Nicky Romero. We’re in for some exciting episodes, but while we’re waiting, here’s a recap of the previous season:
Being crowned as the music artist of EUFA EURO 2020, season 4 closed with the debut of Garrix’s official song for the tournament “We Are The People” — which features the above-mentioned Bono and The Edge — and the speech he gave for such a momentous honour.
This was well deserved for the perduring radiance of Sirius he kept during his tortuous journey to recovery after suffering a severe ankle injury at the OMNIA Nightclub in Las Vegas months prior, which was also filmed. Season 4 also treats us to some tear-jerking stripped studio performances of “Used To Love,” Garrix’s collaboration with the talented Australian singer-songwriter Dean Lewis, and the energy the two shared in fleshing the song out.
For the vicarious experience of music producer life it provides and of course, a spot of tongue-in-cheek humour from Garrix and his team, The Martin Garrix Show is an invigorating watch. So if by chance, you love his music, but have never watched his show, now’s the time for a binge you won’t regret. But if you’re already passed that point, you can watch the official teaser for the fifth season below and start your countdowns. Episodes are scheduled to air intermittently throughout this year, unlike previous seasons. So stay tuned!
