Big changes are coming to your local Walmart – if you’re in California, that is.
The retail giant just announced it’s remodeling 57 stores across the state this year, and 11 of them are right in the heart of the Los Angeles area. So if your go-to Walmart’s been looking a little tired lately, don’t worry – it’s about to get a serious upgrade.
So, what’s on the remodeling checklist? Pretty much everything. Walmart is rolling out sleek new signage, upgraded displays, and more spacious, modernized departments. Whether you’re browsing baby gear, shopping for groceries, or looking for new clothes, expect a more streamlined and easier-to-navigate experience. Even the pharmacies are leveling up – with wider aisles and brand-new private screening rooms for a more comfortable, discreet experience.
Jay Cordray, Walmart’s Senior VP, put it best: “Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role.”
Walmart’s not stopping in Cali either – they’re planning to remodel more than 650 stores nationwide this year. But for now, if you’re in SoCal, keep your eye on these 11 stores that are getting the first wave of updates:
Panorama City (Nordhoff St.)
- Upland (Foothill Blvd., two locations)
- Santa Clarita (Carl Boyer Dr.)
- Oxnard (N Rose Ave.)
- Barstow (Montara Rd.)
- Moreno Valley (Moreno Beach Dr.)
- Torrance (Hawthorne Blvd.)
- West Hills (Fallbrook Ave.)
- Jurupa Valley (Limonite Ave.)
- Baldwin Park (Big Dalton Ave.)
And there’s even more good news for Inland Empire residents – a brand new Walmart is headed to Eastvale in early 2026. The new store will bring roughly 300 jobs to the area and include all the latest upgrades.
Walmart is also doubling down on convenience by expanding online pickup and delivery services. These remodels aren’t just about appearances – they’re about improving the way customers shop, in-store and online.
