The music world has seen many places that have nurtured the scene dearly. Many such places have not just been places for people to enjoy, but have had an intensely intimate impact on music, talent and the entire industry. One such place is definitely the iconic Space Ibiza.
Having shut doors in 2016, the place was still lingering on in the hearts of countless fans and DJs, which especially includes the long-time resident at the venue, Carl Cox. The good news, however, is that the British icon has revealed that the team at Space Ibiza is looking to build a new club on the White Isle under the same name.
When asked if he’d found a home to play music on the island, he told Be-At TV :
“Space was definitely the place for me, we have the idea of bringing Space back next year for maybe an opening and closing, but apart from that, we are actually looking for a new area to build a new Space somewhere on the island.
Yes, it’s going to happen – there’s no doubt about that! I’m going to bring it back, in the near or the distant future. I mean, I’ve lost my home and I need to build a new one.
Space was built as an independent club in Playa d’en Bossa. Playa d’en Bossa only became Playa d’en Bossa because of Space. The new Space doesn’t actually have to be on Playa d’en Bossa. Obviously, we need someplace where it’s a little bit quiet. There is no way I’m going to build a Space nightclub next to Ushuaia or anything.
We will go to a completely new place with a new concept. But the idea is to have the same people who made Space and have people who want to support me in my quest to create a new Space back on the island.”
With that having been said, we can rest assured that there’s something massive that’s going to come up soon! After all, the DJ Mag #1 club on the Top 100 Clubs poll can’t let the fans to continue missing it for too long.
